Here at GlobeMed at Columbia, we believe in something called pragmatic solidarity. Another way of phrasing that is “love put into action,” and we celebrated this Valentine’s Day accordingly.
On Thursday, January 14th, GlobeMed partnered with Sigma Alpha Epsilon (SAE), a fraternity at Columbia University to throw a benefit event at Amsterdam Cafe, a venue near campus. Over 150 students attended, and through collecting donations at the door, we raised $340. This event was also a wonderful opportunity to spread GlobeMed’s name on campus, and to increase awareness about GWED-G’s work in Northern Uganda. Because this event was so successful, we are planning to partner with SAE again in the future.
